A break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life can give you the time to focus on yourself and what really makes you happy.
There are so many ways we can relax and be in wonderful destinations where you can recharge your batteries and carve out some me time. Will be writing about destinations on a different post, let’s take a look at some tips to relax in this post !
From making time to have fun to shutting the world to have some relaxation, here are few tips to upping your self-care on holiday.
Make time in your morning
As much as it is exciting to have late nights and as a result to have late afternoon rises, Make time to check in with yourself to take stock of how you feel that day. Spend a few minutes tuning into your mood and consider do you want to go for a run, head down to the shore for a wander, or dive into that book by the pool or go to the spa at the hotel ?
ReeeeLAAAAXXXX the timetable
Keep your first day activity-free (and perhaps last day too), take the time to relax into your new surroundings after your journey, assess slowly how to make the best of your holiday, ease in and be in the present 🙂 Try not to over-plan and over-organise your holiday activities; go with the flow and give yourself a break, you deserve it !
Embrace the outdoors
Fresh air and sunshine can have such a restorative effect on your work-tired body. Take a walk(or stroll), go for a swim in the pool, hop on a bike and you’ll find your muscles unwind, your spirits lift and you’ll probably sleep better too.
Don’t overdo your activities
Exploring new places does trigger adrenaline and keep your mood uplifted. But if you are on a relaxing break, make sure not to overdo and not too much physically and mentally strenuous. if you are on a long break and have few days to spare, feel free to do some exploring/sightseeing or any activities but do make sure to keep them to minimum and remember to plan them during the midbreak than at the start or tail end of the holiday.
Book a massage (and thank me later)
Use this break to relax, to completely rejuvenate your mind and soul. Take a pause and chill… book a massage and you will feel great. Workouts are great before the massage but do keep them light, after all you are on a holiday ! there needs to be balance.
Drink responsibly
If you are drinking, then handle it responsibly. Alcohol could be fun but being hungover the next day isn’t. Drink slowly and enjoy responsibly,be mindful about your eating and drinking, do make sure to rehydrate before sleeping and prepare your meals accordingly and stock up with water to alleviate the after effects.
Finally, don’t forget to enjoy whatever you are doing, life is in enjoying the present and yes, stop checking the work emails or anything that is part of your life routine.
Happy holidaying !
