Move Your Body: moving your body can help you work through difficult emotions. Go for a walk, dance, or shake. Notice how the emotional energy in your body changes.

2.) Stop telling a story: think about it, how often have you kept telling a story about what happened. Maybe you call your friend and tell them the story about what happened with your ex over + over. Maybe you continue to vent with your sister about your mom. The more you re-live an emotionally stressing experience, the more your body does too. Keep this in mind.

3.) Reframe: the way we talk about emotions, has a lot to do with how we feel. Instead of saying “I am angry” or “I am sad” start saying: “A part of me feelings sad right now.” Or “Right now, I’m feeling a lot of anger.” All emotions are healthy, and it’s important to remember we aren’t our emotions, we experience our emotions.
Practice these steps and notice how much more emotionally resilient you are.

Did you know emotions only last about 90 seconds?
